About Providence, Divine Action and the Church

In this blog, Terry J. Wright posts thoughts and shares research on the Christian doctrine of providence. This doctrine testifies to God’s provision for all things through creation’s high priest, the man Christ Jesus. However, the precise meaning and manner of this provision is a perpetually open question, and this blog is a forum for discussion of the many issues relating to providence and the place of the Church within God’s action.

Books Giveaway for Ph.D Candidates and Postdoctoral Researchers

I’ve some books I’ve no real need for anymore, so I’m looking to move them on – for free. If you’d like a chance to obtain one or more of them, please leave a comment with your name, your location (town/city and country will do) and the book(s) you’d like. I’ll pull names from the proverbial hat on the morning of 11 May (UK time) and announce who gets what. We can sort out the logistics later.

Estelle M. Phillips and Derek S. Pugh, How to Get a PhD: A Handbook for Students and their Supervisors, 4th ed. (Maidenhead: Oxford University Press, 2005)

Gordon Rugg and Marian Petre, The Unwritten Rules of PhD Research (Maidenhead: Open University Press, 2004)

  6. The Academic Career Handbook has been claimed, but the person who's claimed it still hasn't given me contact details for postage. Leave it a couple of weeks and contact me again. If the book still hasn't been posted, you can have it if you want it.
