2011 marks the 400th anniversary of the Authorized Version of the Bible, which is a good moment to celebrate the ministry of proclaiming the word of God and take stock of ways in which this ministry, and the equipment of those called to it, has been evolving and continues to evolve. The conference is scheduled to take place on Friday, 8 April 2011. Please email me for further details.
Spurgeon’s College was founded by one of the greatest preachers of the nineteenth century. The Church and its setting in the world today are very different from the situation with which C.H. Spurgeon was familiar. We continue to seek to nourish a Christ-focused preaching ministry, but it will often look and sound very different from how it did then.
This is a conference for all who are engaged in the preaching ministry or concerned about it, in any denomination. We will examine the heritage of Spurgeon as a preacher, discuss the approach to preaching and the teaching of it adopted in the College today, and seek to peer into the future to discern directions preaching may be called to take.
Thoughts and Research on the Christian Doctrine of God's Providence
About Providence, Divine Action and the Church
In this blog, Terry J. Wright posts thoughts and shares research on the Christian doctrine of providence. This doctrine testifies to God’s provision for all things through creation’s high priest, the man Christ Jesus. However, the precise meaning and manner of this provision is a perpetually open question, and this blog is a forum for discussion of the many issues relating to providence and the place of the Church within God’s action.
