The Temple Hidden in the Bible

The fifth symposium of the Temple Studies Group has been announced:

Symposium V will be held on Saturday 2 July 2011, 10am-4pm. Since 2011 is the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, the subject will be The Temple Hidden in the Bible.

Confirmed speakers and their topics:

Dr Paul Joyce [Oxford] Images of the first Temple hidden in Ezekiel.
Dr David Sheppard [Chester] The Temple hidden in the Isaiah Targum.
Dr Scott Mandelbrote [Cambridge] Temple images in early printed Bibles.
Dr Margaret Barker The Temple in Kings and Chronicles.
One speaker is still to be confirmed. Final titles and further details will be available on this site nearer to the event.

The cost for the day is £35.00, or £5.00 for students with proof of status. Please book by sending an email to the Temple Studies Group via the email address at the top of this website and pay on the day by cash or cheque only. Card purchases are not possible in advance or on the day. Registration and coffee/juice from 9.30am. Wine/juice at the end of the day.

I dare say that the symposium will be held at the Temple Church in London (they usually are). Note that this gathering will (almost) coincide with this year's international meeting of the SBL, which is being held in London, too. If you're planning on attending this latter event, it might be worth coming down a couple of days early; the Temple Study Group meetings are very stimulating.
