Yesterday, I felt compelled to spend the enormous sum of
£1.96, thanks to Michael Bird’s endorsement of Danny Zacharias’s Surviving and Thriving in Seminary: A Practical Guide for the Wide-eyed and Mystified (Kindle Edition). Zacharias
has designed the book to be fairly light-hearted (the title of this blog post
is actually the title of one of the chapters) and to the point, and it can be read
in a couple of hours – I reckon I took just over an hour to go through it, and
I wouldn’t describe myself as the fastest reader in the world. There’s lots of
good advice in here, especially on how to read, what to read, what software
packages to use, and – arguably most importantly – how to manage your time and not
procrastinate! If you’re involved in theological education, and if you’re about
to enter ministerial college or similar, I recommend picking this up.
Thoughts and Research on the Christian Doctrine of God's Providence
About Providence, Divine Action and the Church
In this blog, Terry J. Wright posts thoughts and shares research on the Christian doctrine of providence. This doctrine testifies to God’s provision for all things through creation’s high priest, the man Christ Jesus. However, the precise meaning and manner of this provision is a perpetually open question, and this blog is a forum for discussion of the many issues relating to providence and the place of the Church within God’s action.
