About Providence, Divine Action and the Church

In this blog, Terry J. Wright posts thoughts and shares research on the Christian doctrine of providence. This doctrine testifies to God’s provision for all things through creation’s high priest, the man Christ Jesus. However, the precise meaning and manner of this provision is a perpetually open question, and this blog is a forum for discussion of the many issues relating to providence and the place of the Church within God’s action.

Job, Career, Vocation, Life

On Facebook, Oliver Crisp linked to a reflection by Charles Mathewes on the academic life, and I thought it worthy of posting here.

I have to confess that I find the academic world a little cliquey. If you are fortunate enough to have the funding to study at one of the top universities in the UK (and probably elsewhere), it seems that you are mentored, not merely supervised, and this mentoring leads to a greater chance at being fully accepted into the club rather than admitted.
